Importing an Aircraft into EASA

Following on from the last couple of weeks posting on Airworthiness Review Signatories and the Airworthiness Review Certificate, I thought the next logical topic is to look at importing an aircraft within EASA regulated locations; exporting to outside EASA (N-registration) regulated locations will be addressed next week. These actions will be applicable across all those countries who are full EASA signatories; aircraft can only be imported by approved organisations, not individuals.

Airworthiness Review Signatory – An Explanation

In this week’s blog, I thought that I would take the opportunity to answer a direct question posed last during a discussion on another forum, “never heard of an airworthiness revue signatory before in my 40 years of aircraft ownership. What do you do?”  After deciding not to make frivolous comment about not dressing-up! I thought this was a worrying statement given Part M and associated requirements have been in place for 2 years, give or take a few days.

Preparing Your Aircraft for an Airworthiness Review

This weeks article is aimed at the GA and corporate market, aircraft under 5700 kg and not used for commercial air transport, it is based on what I see as an Airworthiness Review Signatory. It has become increasingly noticeable, that owners and operators of aircraft are not fully complying with applicable airworthiness requirements, through the incorrect carriage of original documentation and/or the use of inappropriate aircraft registration marks.
