Duty of Care – The Sequal
Friday, March 26th, 2010Back in November 2009, we published an article on the Duty of Care, http://tinyurl.com/yjrxckt that an employer has with regard to their employees during work and how this, will and does, extend to the use of local aviation support for the movement those employees to and from their place of work. I was interested to read that major resource development companies are moving in the direction of non-company specific standards. The plan is to develop a proactive programme rather than to react to an incident – “prevention is better than cure”. This is the time for major users of contracted aviation support to start to think about their operations and develop their own robust plans.
